I don't see how scientist can make a judgment on how many people will die of get injured or any statistics like this as they don't know what size magnitude the earthquake will be or how long it will last for.
Did you know that theres actually an American football staduim located on the san Andeas fault line. I think it's called the California memorial staduim and it hosts like 70,000 people. I think they are planning to demolish the stadium as parts of the stand are collapsing due to fault line drift. They estimated that in the next few years there would be a huge gaping crator from goal post to goal post. (Totally irrelevant to the artical but hey, i still commented)

ReplyDeleteI agree with Abbie, I don't understand how they know they can say many people will die, how many fires will start or how much the damage will cost.
Deletei dont understand that either abbie. maybe they will compare the amount of people that have died in an incident like it before to this one....

ReplyDeleteI think they have made estimates on how many injuries and deaths there will be to let people understand how serious the earthquake may be.
